Adam Ravenscroft

I was born in London and first lived in Gants Hill. We moved to Cranleigh in Surrey and then my family eventually settled near Brentwood in Essex.

I’ve had a love of radio from a very early age and music has always been a very important part of my life.

I am a West Ham United fan and once interviewed one of my football heroes Sir Trevor Brooking. I have also among others, interviewed entertainer Roy Castle and Les Gray – the then lead singer of Pop/Rock group Mud.

I joined Hospital Radio Chelmsford at the age of 14 as a Tea Boy and after a number of years served on the committee in many positions including Programme Controller and Chairman. I presented almost every kind of programme from request shows to specialist music. I presented my own Saturday morning show from 1990 to 2019. I even won the Gold award for ‘Male presenter of the year’ in 2012 at The National Hospital Radio Awards!

From April 2018 to August 2025, I was a regular presenter on commercial radio station Time 107.5FM which was based in Romford.

I am here every Monday evening with ‘The Seventies Selection’ from 7pm on City Sound playing a great mix of music from the decade that was the sensational 70s!
