Paul Dupree

Paul has been a fixture of the local music scene in Chelmsford since the late 1980s, primarily DJing at countless pubs around town, eventually becoming a five-year resident at the Bassment Club and became somewhat of a rarity in the 90s, a VJ, mixing video in with the music.

Radio finally beckoned in 2015, and he finally found a way to highlight local musical talent by asking artists into the studio, talking about what they do, and getting them to play live on air. With the facilities offered by City Sound, his Wednesday show Transmission will continue to grow in ambition by allowing artists to present themselves in more creative ways. 

Paul also keeps on top of global alternative music, has a huge archive of live sessions, from local and worldwide artists, and presents regular local musician showcases at the Hot Box venue here in Chelmsford.

Paul also presents Gives Up The Funk on Saturday evenings, which brings him back full circle to his first love of music...quality funk and soul music.
